Integrating techniques and concepts from Linklater, Middendorf, Fitzmaurice, Alexander, Laban, and Berry, this workshop utilizes the actor's natural sense of play as an avenue for strengthening the actor's voice. We will work through a sequence of exercises that will stretch and develop the connection between participants' emotional lives and their spoken voice. The goal of this workshop is to introduce actors to a way of warming up and rehearsing that cultivates their natural understanding of emotion, play, and imagination! Actors should come prepared to stretch, dance, and work together physically.

That means you! As the future stewards of the American theatre, what do you think needs to change or stay the same? Come and learn how to communicate your ideas through “The Creative Pitch”. This can include pitching a theatre company, a multi-disciplinary arts organization, a festival or a creative theatrical initiative.  We will discuss who your target audience is, your position and who are your creative collaborators, where does your creative project take place and how does this creative pitch align with your leadership aspirations?

Learn how to produce a linear short-form podcast with added AI-generated voiceovers and sound effects, and do so ethically.

This workshop will cover ethical concerns with AI-generated content, including the journalistic versus dramaturgical style, copyright issues, and adding some AI generated content to your production. Attendees can experiment with: scripting a short-form podcast; recording and generating voiceovers and sound effects; editing and mixing the audio content; and learning how to ethically produce a podcast.
