A session to discuss the alternative design careers on can pursue other than traditional theatre. This workshop will explore the answers to the question “what do I do with a theatre design degree?” by looking at professional designer’s work that will inspire you to think “outside the box” when it comes to picking a career path.

In this session we will discuss the importance of the craft of the scenic model. We will look at the differences in model techniques and each participant will create a few different model pieces that they can take home with them at the end!

The workshop explores applying Proportion and Scale to an image and then creating a simple scaled White Model of the image. Essentially, students utilize a process whereby they are able to accurately recreate a single room dwelling from a photograph by simply applying the dimensions of the door into their overall calculations.
