Christine Hellman - Consent-Forward Rehearsal Rooms: Building Safer, More Collaborative Processes for Directors & Choreographers
Tuesday September 15, 2026 8:30am - 10:00am EDT
Consent-forward practices and the principles of intimacy work have become essential to contemporary rehearsal rooms and classrooms. As performers increasingly arrive prepared to advocate for their boundaries, directors and choreographers are being asked to lead in new, collaborative ways that support safety, trust, and creative risk-taking.

This workshop introduces directors to consent-based frameworks that foster clarity, regulation, and collaboration throughout the rehearsal process. Participants will explore how consent benefits not only performers, but also directors—by creating sturdy containers for high-stakes work, reducing reactivity, and allowing deeper creative engagement.

Through discussion, exercises, and practical rehearsal tools, directors will leave with concrete strategies they can immediately implement in their own processes

Christine Hellman - Movement - Introduction to Lucid Body
Wednesday September 16, 2026 2:30pm - 3:30pm EDT
This workshop is an introduction to the Lucid Body technique, a psycho-physical process that offers actors a new language for embodiment, character diagnosis, and energetic clarity. The Lucid Body approach invites performers to work from the inside out—engaging the body, breath, and awareness as primary tools for truthful, sustainable performance.

Lucid Body practice focuses on reorganizing energy within the body so that character and circumstance can emerge with deep visceral truth. At its core, this work reframes acting as a holistic practice—one that supports the nervous system and the body rather than depleting it.

Participants will be introduced to three foundational principles of the Lucid Body and experience how these concepts can immediately shift presence, availability, and expressive range.

This workshop includes a physical warm up so space to move is needed.
